About the project
This website is designed around one idea: make the text easy to explore while preserving the depth already present in the source dataset—Sanskrit verses, transliterations, translations, and commentary traditions.
Move cleanly between chapters and verses without clutter or unnecessary distractions.
Explore Sanskrit, transliteration, Hindi and English translations, plus classical commentaries when present in the source response.
Bookmarks and the last-opened verse are stored in your own browser, not sent to an account system.
The data layer
The website reads from a dedicated Bhagavad Gita API that serves locally stored JSON responses. It does not need MongoDB, Neon, or another external scripture API at runtime.

A note on interpretation
The Bhagavad Gita has been interpreted across many philosophical traditions. This project presents the translations and commentaries available in its source data without declaring one commentator as universally definitive. Readers are encouraged to compare perspectives and study with trusted teachers or editions when going deeper.
